MANDALA POLICIES

DRESS CODE

Dancewear is required for ALL classes. There are no exceptions. Being dressed properly will enable the instructor to correct body placement. It also allows students to feel equally part of a group. The Dress code is as follows and will be enforced:


Beginner and first time students: Please consult with the director before purchasing shoes.


CREATIVE MOVEMENT & COMBO CLASSES- Pink leotard, pink tights, pink soft leather, full sole ballet shoes, and black leather mary jane tap shoes for those enrolled in combo classes.


BALLET-black leotard, pink full-foot tights, hair neatly secured away from face in a bun. Level I&II: pink soft leather ballet shoes. Level III-V: Pink leather or canvas, split-sole ballet shoes.

POINTE- Black leotard, pink full-foot tights, hair neatly secured away from face in a bun. See instructor for shoes. Pointe shoes are required by October 1. 

PRE POINTE- Black leotard, pink full-foot tights, hair neatly secured away from face in a bun. Students will receive information within the first month regarding shoes.

JAZZ - Any color leotard and tights. No baggy pants, t-shirts or shorts are permitted. leggings or fitted shorts are acceptable over a leotard. Tan or black pull on jazz shoes (see instructor). Hair neatly secured away from the face and off the neck.

TAP- Any color leotard and tights. Tightly fitted bikers shorts or leggings are permitted. Shoes: See Director for shoes  Level V:  Black lace up. Hair neatly secured away from face away from face and off neck.

LYRICAL- Dark solid color leotard, tan or black tights, and tan pull-on jazz shoe. Hair neatly secured away from the face and off the neck.

HIP-HOP- Comfortable work out wear. Knee pads are optional. Hair must be neatly secured away from the face and off the neck. Sneakers for levels III & Up

Musical Theater: And color leotard and tights.  Fitted dance shorts are optional.  Any dance shoe to start.



REGISTRATION & TUITION

A $25.00 fee per student or $45 fee per family is required at the beginning of the registration. There is a $10 t-shirt fee as well. The monthly fee is $50. 



INSURANCE

The Mandala Dance (MANDALAUS LLC) does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if injury occurs it is understood that the student's own policy is your only source of reimbursement.



WEATHER RELATED CLOSING

We will follow the HurstEulessBedford and Irving ISD District for all weather related closings. However, it is always best to check email or social media 1 hour before your scheduled class if you are in question.  Announcements are on the studio website, through the email list and our facebook page. No make-up classes will be scheduled for weather closing, but you may make-up the lesson in a comparable class on another day. Make up classes must be used with-in the current session.

Closings during the festivals such as Dashain & Tihar holidays will be announced 2 weeks prior for those who celebrate it.**


ATTENDANCE

Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class, and the studio cannot jeopardize its responsibilities to the rest of the class for one student. Please make every effort to have your child at every class. Make-up Classes will not be available due to mitigation efforts.  Each class will have a virtual link and all classes will be available in the event that your dancers is not feeling well or if your dancer on any person living in their home has been requested to quarantine because of contact tracing or traveling from one of the states that requires a 14 day quarantine upon return.



PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are offered to currently enrolled students and are available at an extra charge of $30.00 per half-hour or $60.00 per hour to learn a routine for competition or pageant, extra technique help, or extra help if classes have been missed, etc. You must cancel 24 hours before a scheduled lesson or you will be charged for missed lessons. Payments are due in advance at the beginning of each month. Enrollment is limited. Solo performances in the recital will be limited graduating seniors and those selected by the director. Outside Choreographers, approved by the director, may be brought in and oftentimes bill at a higher rate.


OTHER

All holidays, breaks and a total of 7 snow days are calculated into the current rates. A $10.00 late fee will be added after the 5th of the month for any outstanding balance. This includes checks that are dated on or before the 5th of the month and received on or after the 6th of each month. No student will be permitted to attend class if tuition is more than 30 days past due. Contact Aisha or Miguel for all billing concerns throughout the school year.

  • There will be a $35.00 returned check fee.

  • No gum or candy chewing is allowed in class.

  • The back door will remain locked at all times & until further notice, the waiting area will be closed.

  • Electronic payment through the parent portal is preferred.  Checks/Cash will be accepted in an envelope labeled with your dancer’s name and class.

  • If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to discuss them whenever it does not interfere with a class in session. We are always interested in improving our dance education programs.

  • A parent/guardian musts sign for those under 18 years of age.

  • Any student who withdraws from classes at this studio, must announce it in writing. You are responsible for all charges to your account through the postmarked date of your withdrawal. 

  • Costumes payments are non-refundable.

  • Tuition payments are non-refundable and non-transferable to siblings or other Mandala dancers.

  • We pride ourself on providing a "Dance World" education to all its students along with technique. Costuming, videos, group discussions, etc. may be included in the curriculum.


Covid-19

All policies regarding Covid-19 are posted on the front page of the studio website: www.themandala.us .  We will inform all families of new updates through email, along with adding the updates to the Covid-19 section on the website.  By registering your dancer for the 2021-22 Season, you and your dancer are agreeing to adhere to those policies.  This includes, but is not limited to wearing a nose & mouth covering at all times when in the building, participating virtually if you have traveled from a state that requires a 14-day quarantine or if your dancer or another member of the home has been asked to quarantine through contact tracing.  


Responsibility for Safety

There are certain risks that are inherent in any dance activity. Our members, guests, or nonmember participants agree to accept personal responsibility for his or her safety. We cannot ensure the safety of any participants. In participating at our activities, each such person agrees to hold harmless and free of blame the instructors, and MandalaUS LLC, it's officers and members, for any accident, injury, lost or damaged property, illness or death that might be sustained from their participation. Pictures or video taken during performances and class time may be used for publicity purposes in newspapers, brochures, websites, etc.




RECITAL


We will update the members about the recital dates. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we want to ensure safety for our members first and will schedule the recital according to the situation. One free ticket will be provided to the members of the dancers, there is an $8 fee for any additional ticket/s.



COSTUMES

At this time, we are not placing a costume deposit on the schedule.  The hope is that some costumes will be recycled from last season.   Once enrollment has ended and we gauge where things are in the world of Covid19, we will make an announcement. 


Costumes range anywhere from $50.00 & up. There may be additional expenses for accessory items or embellishments made to a costume after they arrive from a distributor. These prices depend on size, fabrics, quality, etc. A $25.00 non-refundable deposit per costume is 3 months before the recital date. Costumes Deposits paid in full during registration will receive a $5 discount per costume. The teachers/director will choose a costume that is appropriate for the entire group and the exact price will be given out two months before the recital. All costumes must be paid in full one month before ensure delivery for picture day and recital. (Payment plans are available for those with multiple costumes. Please contact us to set up a payment schedule.) Any costume not paid by one week before will be subject to late fees and will not be ordered until it is paid in full. NO EXCEPTIONS. Recital tights are not included in the price of the costumes.




RECITAL PROGRAM

Please make a note in your registration if you paid for an ad in 2021.  


We are planning a fabulous program book this year, and all personal and business ads are due by November 2021. Information with prices will be sent out in early May. It is a great way to advertise a business or tell your dancer how proud you are of their achievements. If you would like to place any ads please let us know. The ad will be charged regardless of whether the ad is received.
