The Journey

Mandala dance was founded in 2018 when a fresh college grad decided to follow her dance dreams and provide a positive and safe place for students to learn dance and have fun. With her background in education and mental health, she understands the importance of positive role models and the power of positive stress coping skills and has implemented the same energy in her studio. Our goal at the Mandala is to be able to teach the kids here the positive ways to cope with their stresses and have a positive uplifting environment overall.  We want all of our students to succeed in everything they do and we try our best to be there for them in not just dance but in any way!

The kids and adults classes that we currently provide are ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, Hip Hop, Belly, Bollywood, Salsa, Nepali. We also have fitness classes such as Yoga and Zumba step as well! All of our teachers come with numerous years of experiences and our priority is and will always be that our guests feel welcome and loved here!

Prior to Covid-19, we were serving about 200 students (adults and kids) in both of our locations, however we had to close our Hurst location as a result of the virus. Resiliency has been a part of us through the beginning and we are still a resilient studio! With your love and support, we will be able to change many more lives in a positive way and we can’t wait to have you in our welcoming family! Thank you so much for your support!

Hi there, my name is Aisha and I teach Bollywood/Nepali at the Mandala! I started dancing when I was 2 and apparently according to my mom I never stopped. Dance has always been a getaway from my stress and frustration and has helped me cope with a lot of things in life. My goal as a teacher here is to be able to teach the kids at the Mandala positive ways to cope with their stresses and have a positive uplifting environment in my class. Mandala’s motto,“where your heart meets happiness, was...is...and will always be my priority. Thank you for trusting us with your children and we promise to take care of them!

My name is Rey, I'm an Engineering student with a passion for learning. My hobbies range from sports to playing with my puppy to learning new things. Whether it's building robots in my free time, studying general relativity for fun, or learning to help run a business, I can never quench my thirst for knowledge. I get no greater joy in life than sharing my knowledge with those who have the same desire to learn. Giving back to the community and the next generation of kids is a reward in and of itself and I enjoy every second of it.

I go as Esha and I was born and raised in Saginaw / Detroit Michigan. A little about my dance career is I’ve been dancing over 20 years. I was the captain of my middle school team and also competed in Florida’s national dance with my high school team. I then moved to Detroit where I did a lot of underground battling and competing. I moved to Texas where I joined the Dallas elite dolls dance team becoming captain. I also had a team of my own that competed around DFW called fierze divas working with girls ages 6-14. I am now doing background dancing and choreography for artists in the area and expanding my dancing experience by continuing to teach what I love to do. A favorite hobby of mine is that I love to cook and I love to be outdoors in the heat.

Hello, my name is Nilima Pandey. I teach Bollywood and Nepali dance classes here at the Mandala Dance. Dancing is my passion and the love of my life. I have been dancing professionally for more than ten years. Moreover, lifelong, dancing has been a way for me to express my feelings. Every time you see me zone out, I bet I am dancing in my head no matter if music is playing around us or not. Being able to share this love, passion, and joy I receive from dancing, with my students at the Mandala, is like the cherry on top. My goal as a dance teacher here at the Mandala is to not only make sure that all my students learn new steps and improve their dancing skills but also to make sure that they enjoy every single moment of dancing and leave every class feeling accomplished and happy. I look forward to meeting you and dancing our hearts away together here at the Mandala.
